Dark times for Amarok

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its Amarok range with the introduction of a new derivative, adding to the brand’s presence in the premium bakkie segment. Based on the Amarok Style, the Dark Label variant brings a design-focused interpretation to the line-up. Buyers can choose between two engine options: the 2.0 TDI producing 125 kW and the 3.0 TDI V6 rated at 184 kW.

The Amarok Dark Label is distinguished by its matt black lettering and 20-inch alloy wheels. The front apron, radiator grille and underbody protection are finished in black, along with the side lettering, privacy glazing with dark rear side windows, matt black B-pillars and roof rails.

Black exterior mirrors, side steps and door handles complete the exterior look. At the rear, the vehicle features a black bumper, darkened taillights, a matt black styling bar, a dark rear window and a black tailgate handle.

Inside, the Dark Label comes with dark ‘ArtVelours’ seat upholstery, black door panels, and an ebony black centre console and headliner. A leather steering wheel bearing the Dark Label emblem and velour floor mats with Dark Label lettering at the front add to the cabin’s dark theme.

2.0 TDI 125kW 4MOTION
The four-cylinder 2.0 TDI engine delivers maximum torque of 405 Nm and a top speed of 180 km/h. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

3.0 TDI V6 184kW 4MOTION
The six-cylinder 3.0 TDI engine produces 184 kW and maximum torque of 600 Nm. Top speed is rated at 180 km/h, and power is sent through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
