The revised Ford Transit Custom LWB Base Model 6-speed Manual strengthens Ford South Africa’s commercial vehicle line-up with improved practicality, modern technology and enhanced driver comfort aimed at business and fleet customers. Power comes from Ford’s 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbodiesel engine producing 100 kW and 360 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Compared to the previous Transit Custom, the revised model offers improved drivetrain refinement, better fuel efficiency and reduced operating costs, while still delivering strong pulling power for cargo and business use.
One of the biggest improvements is the all-new platform and body design, which provide better load access, increased practicality and improved cabin comfort. The new Transit Custom LWB features a lower load floor height, wider side door opening and smarter cargo solutions aimed at making loading and unloading easier for businesses operating in urban environments.
Inside, the revised cabin is significantly more modern than the outgoing model, with upgraded materials, improved ergonomics and a more car-like driving experience. The Base Model now includes advanced safety systems, improved connectivity features and a redesigned dashboard focused on driver productivity and long-distance comfort.
Compared to the previous specification, the 2027 Transit Custom also benefits from enhanced ride quality, improved handling and better overall refinement thanks to the next-generation chassis architecture. Ford has focused heavily on reducing driver fatigue while improving manoeuvrability and day-to-day usability for commercial operators.
